The Steeton Hall Gateway, a listed ancient monument, is under the protection of English Heritage. It is located approximately 1.5 miles to the west of South Milford. This gateway was originally part of a large hall, which was later demolished and replaced by a house. Nowadays, the house has been converted into several dwellings. Dating back to the 15th century, the gateway is one of four similar structures that used to mark the corners of the estate. It features two arched passages, the larger one in the centre for horsemen and carriages, and a smaller one on the left for pedestrians. Additionally, there is a spiral staircase leading to a spacious room above the arch, as well as various shields and coats of arms adorning the structure.
