Originally part of the parish of Guiseley, Horsforth became a separate civil parish in 1866. During the late 19th century, it gained recognition for having the largest population of any village in England, although this claim is not verified. Its convenient location, with access to railways, turnpike roads, tramways, and the nearby canal, made it a hub for various forms of public and commercial transportation, leading to its development as a dormitory suburb of Leeds. In 1894, the civil parish was renamed Horsforth Urban District. In 1974, the parish and urban district were dissolved and incorporated into the newly-formed City of Leeds metropolitan district. In 1999, Horsforth was re-established as a civil parish with its own parish council, which subsequently declared it a town.

When a building or specific area within a building requires additional protection, security doors are often utilised. Here are some typical scenarios in which security doors are commonly used.

Residential Properties: Security doors are often used in residential homes to provide protection against break-ins and intruders. These doors are typically installed on front and back doors, as well as basement entrances.

Commercial Buildings: Security doors can be found in commercial buildings where valuable assets need to be protected, sensitive areas need to be secured, and access to the building needs to be controlled. They are commonly used in server rooms, storage areas, and rooms that handle cash.

Government Buildings: Government buildings often require security doors to be installed to protect classified information and control access to sensitive areas. These doors are commonly found in data centres, server rooms, and secure storage areas.

Educational Institutions: Security doors are often used in educational institutions to protect students and staff from potential threats. They can be found on main entrances, classroom doors, and exterior doors.

Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities: Security doors are also used in hospitals and healthcare facilities to provide protection for patients, staff, and sensitive areas. They are often used in medication storage rooms, laboratories, and operating rooms.

It is crucial to select the appropriate security door for the specific needs of a building or property, as different doors offer varying levels of protection and security features. It is recommended to consult with a security professional or locksmith to determine the best security doors for your property.
